  1. Lena

    Oh no. My bag's gone.

  2. Markus

What happened? Where did you last have it?

  3. Lena

The 42 bus. I must've left it on the seat. I was listening to music and just grabbed my phone and walked off.

  4. Markus

Right. Which stop did you get off at?

  5. Lena

Elm Road, about ten minutes ago.

  6. Markus

Best thing is to ring the bus company and ask if anyone's handed it in. Have you got their number?

  7. Lena

It's probably on their website. I'll find it. What details will they need?

  8. Markus

Can you describe the rucksack? Colour, size, anything that stands out.

  9. Lena

Dark green, sort of khaki. Big enough for my school folders. There's a bit of fraying on the left strap.

  10. Markus

Good, that's specific. Anything on the outside?

  11. Lena

Oh – yeah. A red key ring with my house keys, clipped to the front pocket. And a little fox badge.

  12. Markus

That'll make it easy to spot. What's inside?

  13. Lena

Maths folder, pencil case, phone charger – not the phone, thank goodness. And a granola bar, though that's probably irrelevant.

  14. Markus

Want to write all that down so you've got it in front of you when you call?

  15. Lena

Good idea. I'll make a note on my phone and ring them myself. Will you come with me? I don't want to do it in the corridor with everyone listening.

  16. Markus

Yeah, of course. We can find somewhere quiet at break.

  17. Lena

Thanks, Markus. I genuinely thought I'd lost my homework and was about to lose my mind.

  18. Markus

We don't know where it is yet. Calling them is the next step. Come on, we'll be late for our next lesson.
