  1. Markus

My cousin's coming to stay on Saturday. I haven't seen her in about four years.

  2. Lena

Oh, nice! Is she the one from Hamburg? How old is she now?

  3. Markus

Yeah, she's fifteen – in our year. She's only staying one night, Saturday to Sunday.

  4. Lena

Cool. So have you got any plans yet? What are you going to do with her?

  5. Markus

That's the thing – I've got absolutely nothing. Last time we met, we were about eleven. I barely remember what she's into.

  6. Lena

Fair enough. What did you use to do together, back then?

  7. Markus

Honestly? We just mucked about in my nan's garden and built a den out of old blankets.

  8. Lena

I get that. I thought it'd be awkward when my cousins visited last summer. We ended up by the canal, chatting about music for ages. What about the flea market by the river?

  9. Markus

Yeah, she might like rummaging through old records. I'll text her tonight and ask what she's into these days – no point guessing.

  10. Lena

Good idea. You don't have to fill every minute. Just walk around, see what catches your eye and chat a bit.

  11. Markus

I know, I know. I just keep thinking – what if we've got nothing to talk about? Four years is a long time.

  12. Lena

Yeah, it might take a few minutes to get going. That's alright. Do you want me to tag along? It might be easier with three.

  13. Markus

Would you? That'd take a lot of pressure off. I'll check she's happy for you to join us.

  14. Lena

Of course. You two might click again straight away – that'd be brilliant. We can just have a wander and give it a go.

  15. Markus

Cheers, Lena. Seriously. I was properly stressing about this.

  16. Lena

I get nervous meeting new people too, so a wander sounds good to me.

  17. Markus

Then let's see what she says. Thanks again.

  18. Lena

Text me Saturday morning. If she wants me to come, we'll sort out the time. Catch you later!
