  1. Markus

Hey Lena, are you free this afternoon? I was thinking we could cycle to the lake.

  2. Lena

I'd love to, but I've got to sort out my room first. I've been putting it off all week and honestly, it's getting embarrassing.

  3. Markus

Oh no, how bad is it?

  4. Lena

Clothes everywhere, dirty plates under the desk, books in a massive pile. It'll take ages.

  5. Markus

Right. Well, I've got to do the recycling and take the bottles to the bottle bank, so I'm not exactly free either.

  6. Lena

Wait – what if you help me with the room and I help you with the bottles? Two people are way faster than one.

  7. Markus

That actually sounds good. What do you need me to do?

  8. Lena

Could you carry the stack of books down to the shelf in the living room? I'll take the plates back to the kitchen.

  9. Markus

Sure. And you can help me sort the glass – green, brown, clear. I always mix them up.

  10. Lena

Deal. So do we start at your place or mine?

  11. Markus

Yours first, I reckon. Your room sounds like the bigger job. Then we can grab the bags from the garage and sort the bottles together.

  12. Lena

Fair enough. Let's say half twelve at my door?

  13. Markus

Half twelve works. I'll bring a rubbish bag for anything you want to bin.

  14. Lena

Brilliant. Thanks for helping. I'll carry some of the bottles for you later.

  15. Markus

What are friends for? See you at half twelve, then.

  16. Lena

See you then. It'll be good to have it all done and actually enjoy the afternoon.
