- globalization describes a process by which national and regional economies societies and cultures have become integrated around the world through the
- global network of trade communication immigration and transportation to understand the definition a little bit better we can explain the globalization
- at an example this is the little boy John John likes to meet his friends Tom Jack and Jenna back then at the time without globalization John had to go

- yeah great idea but now in a globalized world John can communicate with his friends via a smartphone and she also can chat with people all over the world
- now we come to the different types of globalization there are three types of globalization the economic globalization the technological globalization and the
- cultural globalization we will begin with economic globalization the economic globalization means nothing more than the multinational ization of companies
- that means that companies like McDonald's or Google's and part of the companies for example to India because of the labor costs are cheaper or they
- want to broadcast the company further as well the capital flows around the world are much more easy because of the international connection in the world
- that means in general that the trade of things is easier for example online banking or the exchange of money to understand this type of globalization
- better we get back to our example John the little boy really likes cheeseburgers from McDonald's but John also likes to travel with family to
- Turkey in some application but back there was no McDonald's in Turkey and John couldn't enjoy both of his favorites but now we're the
- globalization said in McDonald's also has many branches to nearly every country in the world and it's possible for John to enjoy both of his favorites
- if John travels now to Turkey he needs to change his euros to lira so turkish money and then you can buy his favorite cheeseburger in his vacation now we come
- to the next type of globalization the technological globalization the technology has changed very fast over the last 30 years back then in the past
- we wrote our own paper or with our typewriter or take photo with a big camera but this time is over now we have a smartphone or computer
- with their help we can write messages or take photos or call friends this change is also called micro electronic revolution even though the science
- hasn't finished everything gets more modernized or more efficient for example the infrastructure of the car industry as well the scientists tried to process
- robots a technology which should have the mankind in their daily life with for example cleaning or cooking this branches is called artificial
- intelligence with this progress the mankind is connected very well I want the whole world via the world wide web and information is spreading faster than
- every before we can explain this better with our little boy John John's father Derek works for the company mysterious Derek gets an offer by his employer that
- if he works for two years in Turkey he gets a higher salary at first John was very sad about this but because of the technology globalization John can
- communicate with his father by a smart phone or via Internet [Music]
- now John's father got the experience to work in Turkey and John gets a robot all this just because of the globalization let's go to the last type of
- globalization the cultural globalization because of the immigration you can find a lot of cultures in one country due to that fact you can learn a lot about
- different cultures because there are so much cultures around you another aspect is a commercial culture spread because of the new technology we can watch for
- example in TV how the people and other cultures is a huge influence in this case has the American youth culture many serious that we watch in TV are from
- America and their style guts adapted to our culture in the last past years as well the Hollywood and Bollywood movies attract millions of people another huge
- influence on our life as a spread of fast food chains all over the world with this bread we learn what other cultures eat and of course it was a successful
- move to get the culture globalization clearer we go back to John John really likes to go to school there he meets many children with different origins one
- of his friends is Brian he is a boy whose parents immigrated to London from Japan in their free time John and Brian like to watch Bollywood movies because
- they think the Indian culture is really interesting John and Brian also like to go to McDonald's together where John can eat his favorite cheeseburger back then
- before the globalization all this wouldn't be possible but now it is we hope you understood it's three types of globalization with the help of John now
- let's have a look at the effects on the society which effect has the globalization on the society now we've gone through the positive effects
- the globalization makes it possible to communicate around the whole world and that information spreads faster than ever before as well the outsourcing of
- companies create new jobs in development countries another aspect is that a person for example John's father Derek has more opportunities in the job sector
- for example to go to another country furthermore the employees often get a higher flexibility and mobility for example the home office where you can
- work at home additionally we have the possibility to use modern technology for example or a daily friend the smartphone or our computer another important aspect
- is the great progress in medicine it was the new modern medical technologies is impossible to cure diseases like cancer or flus the most important aspect is
- that due to the globalization the world lives in peace and in global friendship nowadays there's principally freedom democracy and human rights and as well
- the fear of wars is very low but beside all these positive points there are as well negative points due to the fact that the companies outsources their
- manufacturers because it's cheaper the working conditions are bad the holiday people work for low salary and there are also children who do this work through
- the growing competition of the employees need to work harder and they work longer healthier holidays lower wages and they need a higher qualification as before
- another important point is that the immigration could get out of control because of the big crowds who flee out of the country to have a better life as
- well we can depend on the information of the media and the risk is high that the propaganda can be used by mass media so we can easily get false information like
- it was while the Second World War another important aspect is that no one can control what the government is doing so there is a high risk of corruption a
- huge problem in the globalized world is the poverty in some countries there is a widening gap between rich and poor so the poor people get poorer and
- the rich people get more rich because of the globalization there's a huge rise of co2 emission and water pollution this problem causes the global warming on the
- earth the Arctic poles are melting and this causes extermination of some animals like the poor lobbyists or it causes the seal of its arising and the
- coast countries get fluted because of the global warming there's also a climate change that means that the future there will be new deserts and
- more natural disasters like hurricanes all these negative aspects should be improved but which solutions do we have to change the negative effects there are
- some global players want to improve the problem they use a the United Nations Greenpeace and MST International are examples of these which we explain a
- little bit further after the Cold War the USA was the only political superpower in the world and the role was to global policeman George Bush declares
- war on terrorism after terroristic group attacks the World Trade Center dwell the USA we're the only country which was prepared to use military power the next
- global player is one of the most famous the United Nations Organization the main aims are promoting peace human rights and economic development furthermore it
- serves as a global platform to communicate and it guarantees global security another famous non-governmental organization is Greenpeace it focuses on
- the conditions of the environment and it wants to cure the nature again the last organization is the Amnesty International it is also a
- non-governmental organization and it focuses on human rights and in reducing or ending political killings these few organizations are the famous one that
