- Hello, everyone. Nowadays, more and more people feel the need to
- take care of the environment. In this video, I will teach you key
- vocabulary to talk about sustainability. Sustainability, causing little or no damage to the environment.
- The rule of the three Rs, reduce, reuse, recycle. Reduce, use less of something. Reuse, use something again.
- Recycle, reusing but for a different purpose. Go green, to do more to protect nature and the environment.
- Waste, when we don’t use all of something and we have to throw some away.
- Zero waste, no waste material is produced. Upcycling, making new furniture, objects, etc. out of old or used things
- or waste material. Compost, to collect and store plant material so it can break down and be
- added to soil to improve its quality. Compostable, something that is compostable can be used as
- compost when it breaks down. Biodegradable, able to break down naturally and in a way that
- is not harmful to the environment. Carbon footprint is how much carbon dioxide is generated by our actions.
- You can reduce your carbon footprint by riding your bike or using public transport instead of driving your car.
- Eco-friendly, not harmful to the environment, or trying to help the environment.
- Pollution, damage caused to water, air, etc. by harmful substances or waste. Climate change, changes in the world’s weather, in particular
- the fact that it is believed to be getting warmer as a result of human activity increasing the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
