- society are on lastly Benjamin the donkey on the farm who is wise but deeply cynical only says things like donkeys live a long time he represents
- those with an understanding of history and are able to look past their immediate circumstances because of this Benjamin feels doomed to watch Society
- make the same mistakes as the past and becomes disillusioned and apathetic to the state of things now that we've established the characters and who they
