6:07 but has done many things for the church then when reverend hell asks him to name the ten commandments proctor significantly forgets
6:15 adultery until his wife elizabeth reminds him at elizabeth's prompting proctor shares his doubts about abigail's
6:23 veracity her truth telling but hell is really really unsure then francis nurse and girls arrive to announce that their wives have also been
6:33 arrested hell is really shaken but he insists that the court will be fair a belief he reasserts as the marshal
6:41 arrives to arrest elizabeth who's been denounced by abigail they take the puppet as proof that elizabeth has been involved in
6:48 questionable activities it's got a needle in its stomach and abigail behaved in court as if someone was stabbing her in the stomach
6:55 although mary the servant insists that she made the puppet and gave it to elizabeth as a gift elizabeth's violent response to
7:01 abigail's accusation insisting that she must be ripped out of the world convinces them that she needs to be cross-examined although
7:10 procter angrily tears the warrant his wife does agree to go husbands then urged reverend hell to act but

7:41 to destroy the court's faith in abigail and this is where act two ends now act three occurs in an anti-room outside the courtroom where we
7:50 hear judge haythorne cross-examine martha cory girls disrupts the proceedings to defend her and he's then brought before the
8:00 court by governor danforth who's now in charge francis whose wife rebecca has been condemned also comes forth to insist that the
8:07 girls are lying though threatened with contempt of court he and giles stand firm proctor then arrives with mary as the witness for
8:16 he's convinced her that she must testify against abigail danforth fears that procter is trying to undermine his court
8:24 rather than just save his wife elizabeth has also declared herself pregnant and procter insists it must be true as his wife is incapable of lying
8:34 pointing out that they won't hang a pregnant woman danforth suggests proctor drop his protest but procter refuses as other
8:42 innocents are involved danforth is shown a list of people who feel the wives are wrongly accused but to the horror of
8:49 the husbands he orders everyone on the list to be arrested for questioning girls accuses putnam of prompting his
8:56 daughter to cry witchery and people in order to get their property but when he refuses to name his source he's arrested

9:24 abigail tries to deflect the charges but proctor's insistence on her bad character begins to make danforth unsure
9:31 procter gets paris to confess to seeing abigail dance in the woods to help build his case to reassert control hawthorne asks mary
9:40 to illustrate how she pretends to faint in court when she can't they decide she must be lying abigail then leads the at
9:47 girls to act as if mary was sending a spirit against them and mary panics procter then pronounces abigail to be a
9:56 and confesses his own adultery with her since abigail denies it elizabeth is thus brought in as proctor's wife to confirm the charge as

11:33 they hope to get someone to confess to make their case valid and paris suggested laying their executions we also learned that abigail and mercy
11:42 have absconded they've run away with paris's savings and he's fearful that the rumored rebellion in nearby andover
11:50 will spread to salem reverend hell also enters to admit his failure in getting rebecca to confess and demands that those awaiting execution be
12:00 pardoned however danforth insists that they must continue to justify the case against those who
12:06 had already been hanged decide to ask elizabeth proctor to encourage her husband proctor himself to confess
12:14 and although she suspects that there's trickery she agrees to speak with him now left alone with her husband we see by their physical descriptions that
12:23 they've both really suffered in jail elizabeth relates how girls had died under torture and proctor confides his decision to confess not feeling
12:31 worthy enough to die beside rebecca and martha elizabeth then insists on his worthiness and she shoulders the blame over his
12:39 adultery because of a former coldness she leaves him to make his own decision but wanting to live for her sake procter
12:47 announces that he will give them the confession they want the judges then return excited about his confession to which they bring a
